A little hair TLC

Updated: Oct 14, 2021

We all have been there...

Our hair is a hot mess and is in desperate need of some TLC. Lets try giving our hair some hydration while we are at home! Here are some of my suggestions.

When I say hydration... yes drinking more water is great! But keeping hair hydrated is crucial to repairing the hair, not only drinking more water but using good products for hydrating that hair!

1. Using good shampoos and conditioners: They will help bring your hair back to life.

  • Using Sulfate free shampoos: Sulfates weigh your hair down.. It can also strip natural oils from the scalp and hair. That can make your hair dry and brittle.

  • Alternating Shampoos: The oils in your hair adapt to what shampoo you are putting in it. So switching it up helps the hair not get “used to it”.

  • Don’t over wash your hair: Over-washing the hair can actually prompt the oil glands to work harder.(Wash your hair twice or three times a week.) Over washing the hair could dry out your hair as well.

  • Invest in a good dry shampoo in between washes.. Totally worth it! It gives your hair heat-free volume , and is oil absorbing.

2.Conditioning treatments: (hair masks) Feeds your hair moisture : Weekly conditioning treatments are a great way to start getting some moisture back into that hair of yours. Sometimes your hair just needs a little something extra. They heal and restore hair’s natural shine and luster. (Heavier concentrations than a normal conditioner.)

3. Olaplex: This is my holy grail! Before drying my hair I will use a dab of this and brush with a wet brush through my hair.

-Repairs while providing styling aid.

-Tames frizz - provides hydration - protects from heat - leaves the hair soft and smooth.

4. Hair Oils: Give your hair some TLC by moisturizing your hair strands.

*Can be applied on dry hair throughout the day to keep fly away. Hair oil improves hair health it strengthens and moisturizes the hair.

5. Don't use heat if you don't need to. ALWAYS USE A HEAT PROTECTOR!
